Condo ‘Triage’

This problem-assessment (triage) service caters to condominium owners looking for help to navigate through the “maze” of trying to find answers “without having all the questions.” Condominium corporations are complex and unfortunately, complicated issues sometimes arise for owners. Typically, unless a condominium owner is elected to the Board of Directors, sits on a Committee supported by the Board, lives or invests in a community which proactively communicates with its owners, holds regular Owners Meetings and is professionally managed, s/he will have limited exposure to the corporation’s activities or plans.

This consultation will help the “beleaguered” or “lost” homeowner gain relevant knowledge and some fundamental tools to understand the available options and possible solutions to deal with the problem. The advice* provided focuses on available options within the framework of the Condominium Act, 1998, the corporation’s Declaration, By-Laws and Rules.
